Aiden is pretty excited this year for his first ever Valentine’s Day party at school, and I’m lucky enough that they have invited moms and dads to come too! I was also really excited to get to do his first ever Valentines with him, but I wasn’t super impressed with the selection available in the stores. It seemed like everything boy themed is some sort of superhero or sports team that he hasn’t even heard of yet. So we decided to make our own. We took one of Aiden’s favorite phrases- “Let’s have a ball!”- and made a fun Valentine card printable out of it. (By the way, I have no idea where he exactly got the phrase from… I assume a cartoon?) I’m providing you with the printable for free, and all you need to do is add a treat bag and a bouncy ball.
So much cuter than store-bought, right?! And I’m over the whole giving 3 year olds tons of candy thing. Aiden prefers a fun toy anyway!
Instructions:
1. Print the FREE printable on heavy weight cardstock (4 per sheet)
2. Cut out the cards, being careful to only cut on the wider spaces between the cards
3. Fold the cards in half and fill out the To/From section
4. Add a bouncy ball to a treat bag, slide the open end inside the folded card, and staple it in place!
So simple, and so cute! The preschool sent home a label sheet with the students’ names and numbers so that everyone got a Valentine, and so that they could be placed in order of the Valentine’s boxes. And since Aiden isn’t quite able to write his name legibly yet, I added his name in before I printed. (You could easily do this by opening the printable in Word and inserting a text box.)
Plus I got some great deals on the supplies I had to buy (I already had scissors and a stapler). Here are my costs:
Heavy weight cardstock- $4.49/pack (normally $8.99 but I caught them on sale 50% off!)
Small treat bags- $2.49/50 bags (I found these in the specialty baking section- Wilton’s brand)
Bouncy balls- $3.99/pack of 12 at the local party store
